About

Local Indians for Education, Inc. (LIFE Center) is one of twenty-seven Indian Education Centers in the state of California. LIFE Center is dedicated to improving the educational, self esteem and employment levels of their people in Shasta County.

Our Mission is to improve educational levels by:

• Providing tutorial services that will increase the academic achievement of youth and adult Indian students
• Provide libraries and other related educational materials
• Encourage Indian parents to become involved in improving their children’s education
• Provide coordinated programs with the public schools, and
• Facilitate the increased employment of Indian youth and adults through vocational training

LIFE Board meetings
Monthly board meetings take place the 2nd Tuesday of every month at the LIFE Center at 7 pm, 4440 Shasta Dam Boulevard, Shasta Lake City, unless otherwise noted.
